1871-S Seated Liberty Half Dollar – Extremely Fine / About Uncirculated (XF-AU)

The Piece: A striking, authentic Carson-era branch mint survivor from the San Francisco Mint, struck during the height of the Western expansion and the post-Civil War recovery.

Aesthetics & Details: Exhibits crisp, well-defined drapery folds across Liberty's robes, sharp lettering, and strong feather detail on the reverse heraldic eagle. Retains attractive original surfaces with light, even wear across the high points that highlights its genuine age.

The Collector Edge: S-mint half dollars from 1871 carry low comparative survival rates in problem-free upper grades, making this a sought-after piece for date-set collectors and fans of classic 19th-century silver.
